California Wine Country

The ride down the coast road was incredibly scenic. This entire ride has to be one of the most beatiful I have ever done. We really lucked out with a clear day on the coast, as I believe it is foggy more often than not.

We took Colman Valley Road back over to Occidental. Don't be mislead by the name. Valley roads don't go through valleys; they go over mountains from one valley to the next. And to escape from the coast, it is most likely a 18% grade. Maybe this climb isn't so bad with fresh legs, but it was brutal for mine. Like King Ridge, the views on top were spectacular. What a shame that I was too pooped to take any more pictures!
