PCT 2001

In the summer of 2001, we did a supported bike trip with John Hughes and Friends, from Reno, Nevada to Seattle, Washington. This trip featured loads of climbs and loads of volcanoes. These are some of our pictures from that trip.

Thanks to United Airlines, we missed the first day of the trip over Mt. Rose. We had shipped the frame out Fedex, and it arrived fine. We brought the rest of the bike parts in an s&s case as checked luggage. One of our connections was cancelled, and we spent quite a bit of time trying to find our way to Reno. We made it and our luggage came in several hours later in the wee hours of the morning. John and I commandeered the luggage van and forced Gerry to ride to Calpine. We spent the morning reassembling the tandem and drinking coffee. We eventually drove the van to Calpine, where our trip started.
